Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), with documented use dating back over 2,000 years in ancient China. It involves the precise insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific anatomical points on the body, known as acupoints. This technique is used to modulate the body's physiological functions by influencing the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems. Acupuncture is commonly integrated into modern medical practice as a complementary therapy , however it is in its own right a rich beautiful  whole system of medicine.  We commonly treat   pain, inflammation, stress-related disorders, neurological and endocrine disorders.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional healing technique that predates acupuncture needles in ancient China, with a history spanning thousands of years. It involves burning dried mugwort (moxa) near or directly on the skin to stimulate circulation, warm the body, and promote healing. In Japanese acupuncture, moxibustion remains an essential therapy with several distinct styles: thread moxa (okyu), where thin threads of moxa are burned on specific points; chinetsukyu, which uses small, hand-rolled moxa cones burned directly on the skin for focused heat; and kyutoshin, a precise technique applying moxa cones on needle handles to enhance treatment effects. These methods are valued for improving energy flow, supporting immune function, and balancing the body’s internal systems.

Maya Abdominal Therapy

Maya Abdominal Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive manual therapy rooted in the traditional healing practices of the Maya people of Central America. It is commonly used to address reproductive, digestive, and urinary conditions, as well as pelvic pain and postural imbalances. Maya Abdominal Therapy is especially valued for its holistic support of women's health throughout the reproductive lifecycle.

Cupping is an ancient healing technique used across many cultures, including Traditional Chinese, Middle Eastern, and Greek medicine. It involves applying suction to the skin using specialized cups to stimulate circulation, ease muscle tension, and support the body's natural healing response. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, cupping is traditionally used to move qi and blood, release stagnation, and expel wind or dampness—making it useful for conditions such as muscle pain, colds, coughs, asthma, and digestive issues. Today, it remains a popular integrative therapy for pain relief, sports recovery, and stress-related tension.

What Our Clients Say

I’ve lived with fibromyalgia for years, and for a long time, medication was the only thing that helped me manage the daily pain. After starting acupuncture, I noticed such a remarkable difference – my pain levels decreased, my energy improved and I began to feel like myself again. Over time, I was able to get off my medication. I feel more balanced, and genuinely better than I have in years. Acupuncture has been a life changing for my health and overall well-being. Dr. Fuqua has helped me so much.

Since 2008, I have been working with Dr Jeanne Fuqua due to a diagnosis of anxiety and acute back issues. Dr. Fuqua was recommended by a coworker who was impressed with the intervention she was receiving.

Since then I have been receiving treatment which has allowed me the opportunity to continue living without any worries of having to undergo surgery. No matter how acute my symptoms have been Dr. Fuqua intervention has always allowed me to live a productive life. She is a caring, dedicated professional, who will work at the patient’s pace. Will inform the patient of the treatment plan and together make a decision as to what is best. She’s never behaved as she’s the doctor and what she says goes. It’s always been teamwork when it comes to my treatment. I truly appreciative her as she has allowed me the opportunity to live a healthy life, even though I have serious diagnoses that render me unable walk at times or do my normal routine. Dr. Fuqua is more than a doctor. She’s a healer and the connection she makes with her patients is genuine she really cares.[…]

I strongly recommend Dr. Fuqua to anyone seeking a medical professional. I am extremely satisfied with the treatment I receive from her. Thank you Dr. Fuqua for being an Amazingly Wonderful Doctor and human being. – YS
